About the Role

Substitute Bus Drivers The Macon R-1 School District is seeking Substitute Bus Drivers for the 2025-2026 school year.

Substitute Bus Drivers are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, extra-curricular activities

and field trips in the absence of regular bus drivers. The driver plays a critical role in maintaining a safe,

efficient, and supportive environment on the bus for students, staff, and other road users. Qualifications: High School

Diploma or G.E.D. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a school bus endorsement (or ability to obtain one)

Previous experience as a bus driver, or in a similar driving/transportation role preferred but not required Experience
